We are on the eve of a New Moon Libra about to gracefully waltz in on Oct 21st at 28° — there’s an eagerness and urgency to begin new relationships, partnerships and alliances that hold change, truth, equality, justice, and increased inner security in them at the forefront, while cutting ties with other relations as Sun-Moon Libra also are in a T-Square with Pluto Aquarius and Jupiter Cancer producing maximum tension here. Being a New Moon, it is not visible in the sky right now making its intentions a little bit nebulous, yet still quite potent and often what’s unseen holds great power. Libra’s glyph is the popular scales representing balance, justice, equality, relationships and diplomacy, but also the Sun setting on a horizon in the Egyptian glyph representing reflection and projection. Libra is driven by comparing and balancing and is a strong mediator having ability to see two (or more) sides of a story. Her ultimate goal is peace, balance and harmony but it’s important to her to take time before weighing any decision because she wants to make the most correct, precise and perfect decision for all sides. Though she is often thought of as soft and beautiful, she can easily rule with an iron fist. This New Moon, like all New Moons, holds the energy of Aries bursting outward with vigor deep within and it’s important not to scatter desires on impulse and to carefully weigh, sow, harmonize and balance them into something previously seeded. This can be anything from new projects embarked upon with loved ones, family and friends getting together, or becoming more involved in groups, tribes and community alike ie. socializing, peaceful protests, freedom movement groups, breaking away from tradition and social structures, rebelling, and moving ‘from conform to reform’, etc. It is a very creative and electric time, a shedding of skins, in particular with a Yod (“Finger of God”) configuration between Uranus Gemini and Saturn Pisces-Neptune Aries pointing its apex finger at this New Moon-Sun Libra to find new ways in communicating and relating and to release and dissolve past structured and conditioned realities. Pluto Aquarius’ square will challenge Libra Sun-Moon possibly forcing others into extreme change ahead while making needed adjustments ie. the Yod to play out. This is in order to shift from outdated patterns in relationships and alliances, such as co-dependent behaviours that don’t serve anyone. However, we could see more tit-for-tat rather than balanced give-and-take, or some may act upon the projections of others which can lead to extremism causing an invasion of boundaries etc. and a tipping point of Libra’s scales gone too far. Libra enjoys pleasing others which trips herself up at times forgetting herself, and the problem in this New Moon Libra is that those actions can create a lumpier carpet, resulting later in further anger, rage to come. With Jupiter Cancer squaring New Moon Libra and Sun and opposing Pluto Aquarius, the emotional tides may swing-sway Libra’s swinging-swing to the point of fighting for justice, fighting for what’s right, fighting for truth and equality, and of course, fighting for what’s fair. Some of this energy is a good love potion strategically where it also involves the asteroid Pallas Athene Aquarius conjunct Pluto trining Libra’s ruler, Venus in Libra and Pallas Athene may bring enough of her ingenuity, wisdom and intelligence to the table in positive decision making. Regardless, new relationships, partnerships and alliances will likely be looking to find value and worth in all new relations. However, Neptune at 0° Aries may slant the scale down with what’s ideal vs what’s real leading to possible disillusions about others and feeling lost in the inability to come together. It’s important to think first before relating with others and to seek positive change with patience allowing Libra to make her decisions in her own harmonious time and way.
