New Moon Libra arrives today @ approx. 2:49pm ET – this is a VERY powerful New Moon being that it’s an Eclipse New Moon (occurring in South America and the South Pacific’s ‘Ring of Fire’) and will likely bring BIG changes ahead and accelerate major energetic shifts and transformations involving “relationships with others”. Confrontations and the potential to swing to extremes (Libra) in wanting to be heard may occur in that the New Moon is tightly conjunct Sun and also Mercury Libra – Mercury Libra reflecting how we communicate in all relationships. Being that Libra’s ruling planet is Venus as well, Venus is currently in the sign Scorpio, meaning we are likely to face limitations within relationships/others and may also find ourselves meeting up with people from the past (SN Libra) ie. past karmic relationships. The New Moon Libra Sun-Moon-Mercury conjunction is also squaring Mars right now – Mars the God of War – in the sign of Cancer (a very maternal and emotional energy connected to family/home/past, etc). This aspect may trigger feelings of vulnerability and a lack of inner security or feelings of being unsafe in relationships. Mars Cancer is also trining Saturn Pisces and though tensions, anger and harsh emotional realities may be running high right now and surfacing within close/familial relationships/bonds, the trine helps these two malefic planets flow in a positive direction making those difficulties and challenges more manageable. The idea here is to take action and persevere and persist through them and to speak up on where one stands with others in a peaceful and harmonic way. It’s necessary to be practical, realistic in one’s actions and fully responsible and accountable to what’s being said as we are always manifesting the present moment. Mars Cancer can suppress and repress anger resulting in passive-aggressiveness, and with Mars-Saturn being in a first quarter trine, there’s likely a fear of stage fright in fully expressing difficulties and challenges to another and to instead impulsively inflict judgments, guilts, blames, etc. But with this New Moon Libra too, and like every New Moon, it offers an opportunity to set new intentions in relationships, to nurture them and press that restart button to create fresh and better boundaries btw self and others. Libra is also the Mediator, the Counselor, and is able to see two sides (or more) of a situation. Therefore this New Moon can offer new ways in communicating in relationships – one way is with grace and respect, another is to strive for balance, and yet another in learning lessons of give and take. Although Libra can sometimes prefer to ‘please others’, make nice with them and not tell truths of how one really feels, it must adjust itself in its relations and communications with others (adjust re Saturn Pisces inconjunct Sun-Moon-Mercury), and bring them into reality ie. to relate independently rather than co-dependently. Key here is not necessarily in compromising, but in collaborating and communicating the things that belong to oneself and the things that do not via discernment and discrimination. Those with anything in the Cardinal axis being Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn – and in particular Pluto Libra and Pluto Capricorn generations – will likely feel affected and influenced by this potent energy intensifying emotional vulnerability and a lack of trust and feeling safe and will need to take care in setting realistic and proper boundaries for oneself and to nurture oneself. There is also a 2nd much talked about Moon in Earth’s orbit right now – 2024 PT5 – which is actually an asteroid and is whizzing through the constellation of Draco until November 25th and will return in 2055. The constellation Draco dates back to the Babylonians representing the dragon/serpent that guarded the golden apples of the Hesperides and I guess we could look at it as an opportunity to transform our energy into more realistic and responsible patterns, ie. grow up a little and not rely on tit-for-tat, maybe(?)…. The fact is relationships are hard but are meant to transform us into better people thus the alchemical process of turning lead into gold the golden apples can represent.
